Roo’s recording studio is a professional studio set up and run by producer James McNally in Lisburn, Northern Ireland. Through years of building up a home studio set up for his own use, James took the plunge in 2021 to make the move and create a studio with top quality instruments, preamps and microphones that are capable of rivalling some of the best studios around. Not only does great equipment help in recording the best song but care, encouragement and honest advise brings the energy to the room for that ‘magic’ to be captured.

In Roo’s, we focus on live instrument recording whenever possible - something James feels very strongly about in order to capture the true feeling of every part in your song. As a Secondary School Music teacher, James will make you feel very welcomed and uses techniques learnt through this teaching years to get the best out of you in the studio, making the whole experience comfortable and pleasurable. James has a degree in music with Cello and Piano being his focus at University, this grounding in musical theory is something clients often comment on, feeling they get an education as well as a recording session.
